Delivery Mode – Classroom based with work placement
Course Duration – 52 weeks with 40 scheduled tuition weeks and up to 10 weeks of holidays and 2 weeks at the end to complete all assessment activities (if required).
To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 120 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency.

Entry Requirements

There are no pre-requisites for this qualification, or any units of competency contained within it. This course is currently available to candidates who can provide evidence that they have worked in a direct support role and therefore GEMS School of Management requires that candidates meet the following:

  • are over the age of 18
  • have a suitable level of language, literacy and numeracy to complete the course requirements.

All candidates interested in enrolling will be required to complete a language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) assessment prior to finalizing their enrolment to ensure that the course is suitable for them and that GEMS School of Management is able to meet their individual needs. The assessment includes oral questioning, written questions, reading and comprehension, and numeracy equations.

Candidates will be required to meet, or exceed, the following LLN levels:

  • Learning: Level 3
  • Writing: Level 3
  • Reading: Level 3
  • Numeracy: Level 2
  • Oral communication: Level 3

If candidates do not achieve the required level in their LLN assessment GEMS School of Management will (where possible) provide candidates with candidate support services as per TA2 Training and Assessment Policy and Procedure. Where this is not possible candidates’ enrolment application will be rejected and they will be referred to appropriate external services or courses and advised that they may reapply in the future if they have improved their language, literacy, and numeracy to the required level.

Qualification Requirements 

18 units must be completed comprising of:

  • 15 core units

  • 3 elective units consisting of:

    • at least 2 units from the electives

    • up to 1 unit from the electives , any endorsed Training Package or accredited course these units must be relevant to the work outcome

All electives chosen must contribute to a valid, industry-supported vocational outcome.
